Title:                      Technical Sales Representative

MJ Building Envelope Solutions Inc. is an independent sales firm located in Milton, Ontario, representing building construction products in various regions across Canada with a focus on commercial roofing and wall products, concrete flooring, masonry cleaners and protectants, and rubber safety surfaces. MJ is continually expanding its’ architectural reach and relationships across Canada. As are result, we are seeking a Technical Sales Representative who will assist in developing our sales and growth of targeted customers in the Canadian marketplace.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop client relationships with architects, specifiers, distributors, contractors and commercial building owners
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to service key accounts
  • Management of key accounts, sales growth, and profitability
  • Provide customers with information on products represented by MJ Building Envelope Solutions
  • Deliver accredited “Lunch & Learn” education sessions to architects and specifiers
  • Advise management of competitive situations, market conditions, and personnel movement in order to develop selling strategies
  • Attend trade shows, customer and industry events, and sales meetings, as required
  • Work closely with manufacturers’ technical departments to develop and assist with technical specifications
  • Monitoring of publicly tendered construction projects

A successful candidate should have:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the commercial construction industry or related experience
  • Technical knowledge of commercial roofing and building envelope industry is a significant asset
  • Ability to read or provide construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate professionally with clients
  • Flexibility to travel to visit assigned accounts, attend special events and required sales meetings
  • Strong negotiation, prioritization and organization skills.
  • Degree from an accredited institution in construction management, business, engineering or related field is an asset
  • Fluency in French is an asset, but is not required.
